The 5th stop in this year’s “Steady” Ed Tour was a big success as Team DGA traveled south and had some top finishes. Participants in the 2013 Santa Maria Open were treated to a weekend of good golf, great weather and fun times.

Team Captain Jon “The Gentleman” Baldwin picked up another first place victory in the Masters division with a hot round on Sunday. DGA Team Member Peter McBride shot well above his rating to take home a fourth place finish in the Open division. DGA Team Arm Farm stud Austin Spradlin and DGA ProLine Team Member Kristine “KK” King both finished second in their respective divisions.

One of a kind First Flight ProLine Breakers found their way into this years amateur players packs. These one of a kind sweet WonderNut disc golf dyes went over huge and the few extras at the DGA table were in high demand. Another big hit was the one of a kind custom powder coated hot pink Mach 3 basket that DGA donated to the event and was raffled off to one lucky winner.

The End of the Trail Classic is the next tournament in the “Steady” Ed tour. The End of the Trail Classic takes place in Visalia, CA. August 31st – Sep 1st.

About the “Steady” Ed Tour

The DGA “Steady” Ed Tour merges NorCal and SoCal disc golf to create the premier California disc golf tour. The series’ events bring top NorCal and top SoCal players together where they can go head to head with friends, other disc golfers from around the state and some of the best players in disc golf.

The 2013 National Senior Games opened this past Friday in the city of Rock and Roll where Mother Nature did some serious rocking and rolling of her own.  Her opening act was a downpour on Friday night while the Opening Ceremonies commenced at the Cleveland Convention Center.  The ceremonies included the lighting of the National Senior Games flame.
